Job Role

Needed a dynamic and experienced Retail Store Manager to lead our team and drive the success of our Econofoods Retail Store. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of achieving sales targets, delivering exceptional customer service, and effectively managing store operations. With an ability to reduce risk and stock losses, and ensure world-class store standards in order to meet business targets. The Store Manager will be responsible for all the operational aspects relating to the Store, as well as to empower and lead the team of employees to reach and exceed business objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent qualification. A tertiary qualification will be an advantage.
  2. Previous experience of 3-5 years as a retail store manager or assistant manager, preferably in the FMCG retail industry, leading a team.
  3. Proven track record of achieving sales targets and delivering excellent customer service.
  4. Knowledge of retail operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and store procedures.
  5. Valid Driver’s license preferably your own vehicle.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Drive and promote sales by ensuring world-class customer service.
  2. Ensuring excellent customer service standards are maintained at all times.
  3. Maintaining outstanding store standards by following the company merchandising standards, and promotion of stock, stock management, and merchandising to optimize product availability and presentation together with correct pricing of products.
  4. Assisting in the receiving of stock, stock counts, managing expiry dates, and condition of stock.
  5. Recruiting, training, and managing a high-performing team while building and supporting the company’s Ho Hola Culture.
  6. Cash Management, including preparing floats, daily banking, and providing cashier support.
  7. Management of team – training, coaching, and performance of team members
  8. Maintaining and adhering to all health and safety processes and regulations. Making sure the hygiene requirements and food quality and safety standards are followed.
  9. Analyzing store sales data and identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  10. Overseeing store operations, including opening and closing procedures, and security.
  11. Building and maintaining positive relationships with customers, vendors, and stakeholders.
